Recliner Redo

I have been planning this project for about a year. Yep. A YEAR. That is about how long it took to get just the right fabric...

Feast your eyes.
I re-covered one (planning on doing the other one soon) of the recliners we bought for the boys a few years ago. I am sure you would all be shocked to know that boys are pretty rough on chairs...and toys...and dressers...and houses...

The one on the left is the old version. We just loved these when we saw them. That monkey fabric is the cutest thing since dimples on a baby. But, fast forward two years and what you have are two ripped, stained, lopsided monkey chairs.

I love how it turned out. I changed the back cushion by excluding the four buttons (they were the first thing to rip). Now it is a full, fluffy lump of softness. They boys have been arguing over who gets to sit in the new one.

Note to self - the camera preview window is not a good judge of how clear your pictures are.
I will try to work on my photography skills for future posts ;o)

A Day at the Park (in January!)

It is January. Yes. This is true. Also true...it has been 70+ degrees in Texas this week.
I am bummed about this. I would like to have some winter weather. Some snow. Some fun times in said snow. Instead I have fun times at the park, in the sunshine, in January. The weather does not answer to me apparently.

The Proof is in the Pictures

Today's post is a hodge podge of things. Sometimes I have ideas for posts that never make it to the page. Or I have pictures I want to share but I can't think of enough to write about it so I don't post them. Well today I am declaring to be 'Freestyle Friday' so I can share these random pics and ideas.
Here we go...

My boys are all country. See above for proof.

My little guy is super cute (when he isn't being a royal toothead). See above for proof.

My Hubby is a great Dad who would carry our boys on his back if needed. See above for proof.

Their bond can take my breath away sometimes. See above for proof.

My big guy can build some pretty amazing Lego houses. See above for proof.

Happy 'Freestyle Friday'!

Here a sheep, there a sheep, everywhere a sheep, sheep!

My Farm Friends fabric is popping up all over the web lately. It is so humbling every time I search online and find a quilt shop carrying my fabric. I am so thankful for each and every shop that has ordered Farm Friends.

Here is a list of online retailers that pop up in a Google search. If you are a shop that has Farm Friends on the shelf or if you know of a shop that has it, please let me know and I will add it to the list.

Thank you for your support and your orders! I appreciate all of you more than I can express here on this little space on the internet. I also have a Flickr group created for you to share all of your Farm Friends projects. See the slideshow on the sidebar and click on it to add your handmade goodies.
